The cafe is on the small quiet lane which runs through Bangkiang Sidem, about 500 meters from the top of Campuan Ridge and so about 30 minutes walk from Ubud centre. Open from dawn to dusk, it has proven popular with trekkers making the easy walk from Ubud centre along Campuan Ridge as well as long term visitors adept at seeking out special.

Wayan Karsa, the owner of the villas and Karsa Kafe with his family, would often see tourists stopping to take pictures of the village rice terrace, where he had worked the family rice fields and which he had walked past his entire life as had his family for generations before him. He was eventually able to see the rice terrace from a visitor.

Practical Info. The Hard Rock Cafe Munich is located at Platzl 1 directly across from the Hofbräuhaus. The merchandise shop is open daily from 9:30 a.m. until midnight, and the restaurant is open from noon to midnight Sunday through Thursday. It is open from noon to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The best thing about Karsa Kafe is it's location in the rice fields and that comes at a price - it's about 30 minutes (2km) from Ubud town on a narrow footpath along the Campuhan Ridge (read about the hike here). If you are staying at the Lokha Resort (reviewed here), it's a short walk and a nice alternative to eating at the hotel.

Karsa Cafe, and the excellent view of the rice terrace, is about 500 meters along the road from the end of the Campuan Ridge walkway. The ideal spot to rest and have a cold drink and something to eat whilst admiring the rice terrace with the backdrop of Mount Bedugul.
